Spiced Popcorn
Ingredients:
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp dried thyme
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup popping corn
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp sweet paprika
Method
In a little bowl, mix paprika, thyme, oregano, onion salt and half the vegetable oil.
Heat other half of oil in saucepan. When oil is very hot, add popping corn and cover with tight fitting lid. When the corn starts popping, give the pan a shake. When the corn stops popping, take pan off heat.
Place popcorn into a serving bowl, discarding any unpopped corn. Add the spice mixture and toss.
Great addition to any lunchbox.
Snack Mix with a Southwestern Flare
Ingredients:
2 bags Fat Free microwave popcorn (any flavor), popped (24 cups)
6 cups Baked Cheddar flavor corn snacks
2 cups fat-free pretzel sticks
2 tablespoons reduced-fat margarine, melted
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Pop popcorn according to package directions. Put popcorn, baked corn snacks and pretzels in a large bowl with a lid. Put melted margarine in a separate bowl. Add chili powder, cumin and garlic powder and blend together. Pour over popcorn mixture. Cover bowl and toss to coat. Sprinkle cheese on top. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Put popcorn mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Place in airtight bowl to store.
High Energy Crunchy Balls
Ingredients:
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup finely grated carrots
1/4 cup good quality Granola
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1 Tablespoon runny honey
3 Tablespoons peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
Method:
This is a super easy and quick recipe, but very healthy and delicious.
Combine all the ingredients in large bowl.
Roll into balls and let them be enjoyed by old and young!
Back to School Recipe: Healthy oasted and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds Snack

1 1/3 cup fresh pumpkin seeds, cleaned and rinsed
1 tsp salt
1 tsp crushed red pepper
½ tsp black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2tsp of another spice you enjoy
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a bowl, combine the pumpkin seeds with the spices. Place the pumpkin seeds on a baking tray, sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, and bake for approximately 15 minutes. The seeds should be slightly golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely.
Place in mini plastic (snack size) baggies and put in your kids lunch box for a healthy snack.
